The appointment system of faculty is an important part of the modern university system and an important part of the reform of the internal management system.But for a long time,the inefficient allocation of teachers' human resources has been restricting the pace of the modernization of most higher education in China.The international development trend of education has put forward new requirements for the reform of the faculty employment system.In order to enhance the vitality and efficiency of the faculty appointment system,colleges and universities need to keep innovating the system.In May 2010,the state council promulgated the national medium and long-term education reform and development plan outline(2010-2020)put forward to make a “noble ethics,business skill,reasonable structure,full of vitality” of the high quality specialized teaching body,which is pointed out the developing direction of faculty appointment system.In many universities,less investment in the construction of teaching body,teachers' admittance,evaluation and exit mechanism are not perfect,and teachers' ability is difficult to adapt to the needs of talent training in the new era.This study mainly includes the following parts: first of all,carding the history of the appointment system reform of faculty,and then puts forward the current reform motivation.On the basis of the new public management theory combined with relevant national management policies,reading the text content of 75 affiliated universities appointment system reform of faculty in our country,we can know what are the old reform' characteristics and improvement;At last,the value orientation and path of the current appointment system of faculty are discussed.It follows the thought of “why to change,where to change and where the road is”,so as to provide reference for local colleges and universities to better promote the appointment system reform of faculty.
