Objective:To explore the relationship between the covitality and depression of social emotional health of senior elementary school students,and the mediating role of school belonging among them.Methods: A total of 806 senior primary school students from five schools in Hunan Province were investigated using the Social and Emotional Health Scale-primary(SEHS-P),the Depression Self-Rating Scale for Children(DSRSC),and the Psychological Sense of School Membership Scale(PSSM).Results:(1)Senior students in primary have a higher level of covitality(M=89.54+17.22),and school belonging is at a slightly higher level(M=68.69+11.99),the detection rate of depression was 17.2%;(2)There is a significant difference in the covitality scores of primary school pupils in terms of gender and school type.The covitality scores of girls are significantly higher than that of boys,and the covitality scores of public school students are significantly higher than those of private school students and model school students.For ordinary school students,but there is little difference in covitality scores in the source of students;school sense of belonging has significant differences in scores of different genders,source of students,and school types.(3)There is a significant negative correlation between covitality,health and overall depression and depression,and a significant positive correlation with school belonging.Senior school children's school belonging and depression have a significant negative correlation.(4)The relationship between the covitality and depression of senior students' social grade and the depression in the significant part of the school's sense of belonging,the mediating effect accounted for 57% of the total effect.Conclusion: The covitality of senior elementary school students and sense of belonging to school have a significant negative predictive effect on depression.School sense of belonging plays a partial intermediary role between covitality and depression,that is,covitality can directly affect the depression of senior elementary school students,and can also affect the school The formation of a sense of belonging has an indirect effect on the depression of senior pupils.
