The map is the carrier of geographic information and the "second language" of the subject of geography.The map can not only express the spatial distribution and connection of various geographical things,but also dynamically describe the development process of geographical things,which is the epitome of the spatial characteristics of geographical locations.Mental map refers to a kind of map in the brain formed by analyzing and processing various geographic information,spatial location and geographical knowledge in the human brain.The construction of mental maps can cultivate students' core qualities of geography,improve their ability to think in geography,and achieve better results in geography evaluation.Through the literature analysis method and the inductive summary method,the research background,research significance and research status of the construction of the mental map are summarized,the concept of the psychological map is defined and the theoretical basis for the construction of the mental map is proposed;To investigate the current status of students 'ability to construct mental maps;use statistical analysis to analyze the results of the questionnaires to clarify the problems in the ability to construct mental maps of high school students in Xiangyuan County;combine constructivism and cognitive based on the results of the questionnaire survey The theory of learning,clarifying the main position of students in the construction process,starting from how to help students accurately and quickly build a mental map,put forward the construction strategy and construction steps of the psychological map;combined with specific cases,the mental map construction strategy and The construction steps fall into classroom practice.The basic conclusions of this article are:(1)The characteristics of high school students' mental maps are: intangibility,accumulation,difference and system.(2)The construction strategy of the mental map must be implemented in the learning process.The construction steps of the mental map can be divided into: "contouring,clever positioning,and framework".At the beginning of construction,students must establish a framework of the mental map to be able to distinguish Outline,accurate positioning;"Add elements,more contrasts,clear rules",comprehensively add various geographical elements,fill the frame,and conduct comparative analysis to find the development rules of geographical things;"often memory,transfer pictures and texts,grasp the essence" To strengthen the conversion of pictures and texts and the conversion of pictures and graphs,we can grasp the essence of geographic phenomena and geographic processes;Map output and expansion are perfect.(3)The instructional design "Japan" verifies the construction strategy and construction steps of the mental map proposed in this paper.The results show that the construction strategies and steps previously proposed are effective for most students.There are very few students who cannot adapt to this strategy,which shows that the choice of construction strategy must fully respect the individual characteristics of students,and the construction strategy should be flexibly selected in accordance with the actual situation of students.The construction of mental map is the demand to cultivate students' core quality in geography.It can strengthen the training of students' geographical thinking ability and help students to establish knowledge system by using charts.It is a new and effective method to learn geography.
