The Development And Application Of Ping Dingshan Local Geographic Materical In The High School Geography Teaching

With the rapid advancement of curriculum reform, the development of geographical curriculum resources has been attached more importance to. As an important component of curriculum resources, local geographical materials play an active part in improving students’ interest and efficiency and enhancing the teaching effect. Therefore, they should be developed and applied.Hence, to solve the said problems, we have fully surveyed the current studies both at home and abroad and the problems in the development and utilisation of local materials in high school teaching with the methods of documentation, questionnaire and interview and proposed corresponding solutions based on new curriculum standards for geographical class in high schools, cognition-discovery learning theory and life education theory. We propose the principles for the development and application of local geographical materials, meanwhile, we also analyse the high school geographical textbooks(PEP edition) and apply developed local materials into teaching practice. The paper includes several parts as follows:Part One presents the research background, aims, significance and analyses the current studies about local geography both at home and abroad and proposes the ideas and methods of research.Part Two is about defining the relevant concepts, and putting forward the development and application of the theory basis of Ping dingshan agrestic geography material.Part Three analyses the existing problems in the development and utilisation of local geographical materials in Ping dingshan high school teaching and proposes corresponding solutions in combination with questionnaire and interview.Part Four is to classify the materials according to the form and content analysis based on the principles of the development of the local geography material.Part Five analyses the three compulsory textbooks of high school geography, fully combines developed local geographical materials and the three textbooks and provides reference for high school teaching in Ping dingshan.Finally, Part Six contains the conclusion and recommendation, to summarize the full text and emphasized the importance of local geographical material development; to expound the insufficiencies of the article, and put forward the expectation of integration of the local geography and the local geographical material of Ping dingshan city.
