Yueqin,as a vital cultural heritage for Yi people in Liangshan,is not just a symbol for Yi culture,but also the indispensable media to pass down the splendid traditions and customs.It connects deeply with Yi people's way of life and its function as a society.In recent years,as the progress of the modernization and the continuous development of Social economy and culture,Yi people has assigned more importance to the protection and inheritance of its own culture.With the joint promotion from Southwest University for Nationalities and Xide Wa'er School,Yueqin,a representative music form of the unique ethnic culture,has gradually made its way into the school as a form of art education.This is a useful attempt to pass down and develop Yi people's culture made by the two.Moreover,it projects significant influence over deepening students' understanding,awakening awareness,strengthening identity and promoting inheritance towards Yi culture.This paper will explore the current issues of Yueqin education in Liangshan Yi people's area by setting Yueqin Heritage Class in Xide Wa'er School as an example.It points out the existing problems in Yueqin teaching in this area and seeks to propose further counter-measure and reflection.Meanwhile,the teaching practice conducted in Yueqin Heritage Class in Xide Wa'er School has put the counter-measure and reflection into tests,which demonstrates practical significance in providing experience and reference to existing problems in Yueqin education in Lianshan Yi people's area.This paper consists the following parts.Chapter one states the purpose and meaning of this research.It also illustrates the status quo and methodology for this research.Chapter two is a brief introduction of Yi people's Yueqi in Liangshan.It reviews the origin and the basic characteristics of its music.Chapter three discusses the current situation and problems of teaching in Yueqin class in Xide Wa'er School.Chapter four focuses on counter-measure and reflection to improve the the current situation and problems of teaching in Yueqin class in Xide Wa'er School.Chapter five analyzes a teaching case of A Happy Nuosu in Yueqin class in Xide Wa'er School.It demonstrates the instructional design and post-class reflections.It also summarizes and assesses the advantages and disadvantages in teaching Yueqin.The Conclusion recaps the main arguments of this paper and puts forward further discussions.It emphasizes the profound meaning Yueqin education has for the Yi people's cultural heritage.Moreover,it looks forward for Yi people's Yueqin to flourishing in the future.
