It's no denying that the function of general education in talents cultivating of colleges and universities has been a hot topic in academic circles for a long term.Social development has made professional talents fail to satisfy national development demands.Carrying out the reform of general education is a key measure to improve the comprehensive quality of college students,which is helpful to train qualified citizens for the country who can adapt to the social development.In order to meet the needs of national development and the needs of students' growth,Beijing Forestry University is bound to carry out general education reform.In view of current talents demands in social development,this thesis first introduces the reasons for this topic and its research significance,analyzes the successful experience of other domestic universities involving in general education reform and reviews the research contents.After that,according to the actual situation of Beijing Forestry University,this thesis applies questionnaires and interviews to analyze the existed problems of students and teachers in various aspect,such as curriculum setting,curriculum selection and concept establishment.In addition,the advantages and disadvantages of general education reform in this university are analyzed as well.It also adjusts general education goals,curriculum content,learning methods and other aspects from the perspective of Taylor's curriculum.Eventually,it proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions in terms of curriculum setting,institution setting,teacher team building,popularization of educational concepts,and seeking support from leaders.It hopes to offer some valuable references on general education reform of Beijing Forestry University.
