In recent years,the Whole Book Reading has become a topic of widespread concern and discussion in Chinese reading teaching,and the discussion and practice in the field of Chinese in primary schools are also very active.However,after careful analysis,it is found that the Whole Book Reading is to read the whole book,the idea is very good,but how to implement it and how to evaluate it is still in the initial stage of exploration,so it is urgent to explore practical operation mode.The theory of Scaffolding Instruction opens a window for us at the right time.The ideas and practices it advocates will help us to effectively carry out the Whole Book Reading activities.This research adopts the method of action research.On the basis of clarifying the core concept,based on the theory of Scaffolding Instruction,taking the book "my mother is an elf" as an example,the process of Whole Book Reading activities is designed in detail,and the experiment is carried out.The Whole Book Reading activity based on Scaffolding Instruction theory is divided into five stages.That is,building the scaffold 覧 the design and implementation stage of the activity goal,creating a situation 覧 the design and implementation stage of the pre-reading activities,independent exploration 覧 the design and implementation stage of the self-reading activities,collaborative learning 覧 the design and implementation stage of the promoting activities in reading,effect evaluation 覧 the design and implementation stage of the post-reading sharing activities.The experiment shows that carrying out the Whole Book Reading activity based on Scaffolding Instruction is more helpful to stimulate students' reading enthusiasm,to help students understand the content of the book,to improve their thinking ability,and learn the way of expression more quickly.At the same time,through the research,we found that the Whole Book Reading activities based on the Scaffolding Instruction theory should also emphasize that teachers should teach students to read one book,and let students read more books by themselves.Teachers should respect students' willingness to choose books,try to construct a systematic reading method,and pay more attention to form a multiple evaluation method.
