The mathematics curriculum criterion of compulsory education of 2001 edition takes knowledge and skill,mathematical thinking,problem solving,and emotional attitude as the targets of course teaching,and highlights the interaction of them with close connection,and besides,the relationship of “problem solving” with the other three aspects is extremely complicated.Although the mathematical education circle does not give a specific definition on “problem solving”,it does not have influence on the research of it in mathematics.At present,there are uncertainty and complexity for the research on problem solving,the related researches on it merely focus on the problem solving under some specific significance or some side of it,and the research on the concept and situation of problem solving is one of them.As to the teaching contents of Statistics and Probability in junior high school,there are most of cases around students,so that the problem discovery and presentation in classroom teaching becomes the important part in the design of teaching.In the thesis“Metaphor in the Teaching of Problem Solving of Mathematics” by a famous American scholar,O.Chapman,the author has researched on the presentation of problem and the creation and design of situation in the teaching of problem solving.As to the associated concepts and strategies of “game”,“expedition”,and “collaborative cooperation” about the research on problem solving,they are the basis of the design of classroom teaching of statistics and probability.Here this study has researched on the situation of problem solving created and designed by game to have teaching design on the course of statistics and probability,and finally,it can form the teaching design based on problem solving.On the basis of the document analysis on the related researches by O.Chapman and the professor Xu Binyan,it extracts the teaching concepts and teaching strategies of game for the classroom teaching of mathematics in junior high school;and then,by means of questionnaire method,it distributes to 100 teachers in Yantai.Therefore,it can know about and master the status of teaching about problem solving by teachers in some middle school in Fushan district in Yantai;in the following,it distributes questionnaire to students,which mainly surveys the status of the ability of students in junior high school about problem solving and the understanding on Statistics and Probability;andthen,on the basis of research and investigation,with the combination of the strategy of situation creation and design about “game” for problem solving,it has design on classroom teaching about Statistics and Probability.It can get important inspirations from the design of classroom teaching,on the one hand,the problem solving of mathematics is not fully understood and focused on the mathematical teaching in junior high school,and the understanding of most teachers and students on problem solving is still in the level of traditional solution,and on the other hand,the game strategy on problem solving has positive effect on the innovation of creation and design of teaching situation and teaching model.
