The study is based on the Need Theory and conducts a brand-new interpretation on college students' ideological and political education from the point of Need Theory trying to deeply explore ways to promote the development of ideological and political education theoretically and practically.The study analyzes the significance of Need Theory to modern education,especially to college students' ideological and political education through introduction of need's characteristics three representative Need Theory and and exploration of the relationship between the need and ideological and political education.The core part of the thesis is the problem caused by the insufficient application of the theory in the process of college students' ideological and political education in the modern society.The founding point and the ultimate goal of the thesis are to explore the ways and methods of realizing the ideological and political education of college students from the perspective of Need Theory,so as to improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education of college students.The paper is mainly divided into four parts:The first part summarizes the Need theory which includes Maslow's need theory in the field of psychology and Marx and Engels' analysis and discussion upon the Need theory in the field of philosophy as well as McLean's triple needs theory with the sociology perspective.These three theories interpret and analyze need thoroughly from different fields and perspective,which will bring certain meaningful effect to education and management activities in current universities.The second part mainly analyzes the corresponding point of college students' ideological and political education and Needs Theory.Need theory is one of the important theoretical basis of college students' ideological and political education,which provides a strong theoretical support for the development of ideological and political education activities.Ideological and political education of college students is further used and developed to need theory in practice,meanwhile leading various needs of college students to the healthy and reasonable direction.The third part mainly analyzes the problems and causes of college students' ideological and political education from the perspective of need theory.The problem mainly are: firstly,in the process of colleges students' ideological and political education,the subjectivity of students' need is ignored.Secondly,the hierarchy of students' need is neglected;the difference and development of students need are also ignored.The reasons for these problems are multifaceted: the concept of educators is lagged behind;the goal of educational training is not appropriate;education mode is single;the content of education disagrees with students reality.The fourth part explores the methods of realizing the ideological and political education of college students from the perspective of need theory.Firstly we should insist on student-oriented policy to meet the subjectivity need of students;Secondly put emphasis on combining in class with after class to meet the subjectivity need of students;Thirdly,take targeted education according to the characteristics of students to meet the different need of students;Fourthly expand educational channels to meet development need of students.
