Focusing on the social service activities of university teachers in the Republic of China period,comprehensively using the historical research method,literature research method,case study method and other research methods to sort out and analyze the social service activities of teachers in the Republic of China University,analyzes the historical background of social service in the period of the Republic of China,and shows the real picture of the social service activities of university teachers in the Republic of China from the dimensions of activity content,activity form,activity characteristics and activity influence.By exploring the social service activities carried out by the teachers of Tsinghua University,Peking University,Nankai University,Southeast University,Southwest General Assembly,Northwest General Assembly,Central University,Zhejiang University,Zhongshan University,Nanjing College and other universities,the practical value of the university teachers' social service activities in the period of the Republic of China is explained,with a view to providing a historical mirror for the teachers of our universities to carry out social service activities today.This study explores the historical background of teachers' social service activities in the Republic of China from two dimensions and three perspectives.This paper analyzes the social background and internal driving force of teachers' social service activities from two dimensions: external environment and internal factors,and grasps the background of teachers' social service activities from three perspectives: teachers,universities and society as a whole.The social service activities carried out by university teachers in the period of the Republic of China are rich in contents,various forms and wide in influence.As far as its content is concerned,university teachers have carried out a series of practical activities,including social education,scientific research promotion and improvement of social ethos.The social education carried out by the teachers of the Republic of China University embodies the core value of opening the people's wisdom,and the scientific research promotion shows theintellectual efficacy of the university teachers,and the improvement of the social atmosphere plays a leading role in the culture of the university teachers.As far as its activities are concerned,it involves the establishment of schools,publications,public speeches,consultation exhibitions,practical guidance and so on.From the perspective of service influence,it is characterized as carrying out social education to improve people's intellectual knowledge;popularizing scientific research results for the well-being of the people;improving social atmosphere and promoting democratic progress.Generally speaking,the social service activities of teachers in the Republic of China University embody three dimensional characteristics: social service object is popularized,social service content is rich,and the main body of activity shows the characteristics of paying attention to social reality and giving oneself.The social service activities of university teachers in the period of China have important practical value for giving full play to the individual value and social value of university teachers and promoting the development of colleges and universities and social changes.For university teachers,in terms of service orientation,they should make clear the direction of social service according to the actual needs;in terms of service content,they should highlight the advantages of academic resources and develop special social services;in terms of service support,they should strengthen the awareness of social services and provide social service system security.
