In recent years,the town youngsters have been defined as the stereotype of "no aesthetic" and "unfashionable",which is closely related to their cultural preference when choosing cultural products.Based on Pierre Bourdieu's theory of cultural capital,and borrowing the concepts of "habitus" and "distinction",this paper observes the physical truth of the town youth's accumulation of cultural capital in the field of the cell media.From this new perspective,the paper also tries to study whether there is segmentation of interest due to their unique cultural habits,so as to reveal the unequal cultural status of the town youngsters in the fifth meida field.In view of such above questions,the author conducted participatory observation and in-depth interviews with 26 young people in small towns.Through observation and analysis,the author found that the town youngsters do have some habitus of paying more attention to acquire institutional cultural capital than concrete cultural capital and objective cultural capital,which is influenced by family economic status,parents'education background and family education,as well as school education.And such habitus also has been shown in their cell media using.Although cell media provides a variety of cultural products for town youngsters,they still prefer to choose entertainment content consumption but not knowledge content consumption.What's more,they would pay more attention to the functionality of content when they doing the cell media reading.There is a great distinction between them and urban youth in terms of cultural taste.In addition,town youth also repel the rustic culture.They construct a cultural order between themselves and rural youth in the form of "scorn chain".In another side,there is also a great difference of cultural interests between the returning young people in towns and the local young people in the towns.These returning young people in towns have ever studied,worked or lived in urban cities,and then returned to the town to live.Influenced by urban life,their cultural habits are also constantly adapting.Their cell media using is characterized by more fashionable cultural consumption,more diverse cultural interests and so on.There is a regeneration of grade division between them and the local youth of the townIn the process of field change,there is an overall increase of cultural capital for the town youth.But habitus still have a profound impact on their cultural choice,resulting in the existence of segmentation of interest.In addition,the subsidence tendency of the cultural content supplement provided by the capital content market further intensifies the solidification of such distinction.
