Previous studies on moral judgment have showed that situational factors can affect the level of individual moral judgment. However, sports situations are different from ordinary daily life.Compared with daily life situations, people are more likely to accept the unethical behavior of intentionally hurting others in sports situations. What is the difference between the characteristics of moral judgment processing between sports and non-sports majors in the context of sports and general situation? What is the neural mechanism of situational factors influencing moral judgment in sports and non-sports majors? The research will combine the questionnaire method and ERP technology to explore whether there are differences in the moral judgment level between sports and non-sports majors, and the neural mechanisms of the processing of moral judgments. The participants were recruited from a university in Wuhan, and the number of sports and non-sports majors is the same.Using 2(situation type: sports situation, general situation)×2(moral titer: morality,immorality)×2(major: sports major,non-sports major)three-factor hybrid design. The situational type and moral titer are the internal variables of the subjects, and the majors are the inter-subjects variables. The dependent variable is the score of the moral intention judgment questionnaire and the response to the moral judgment of the picture. And the average amplitude and latency of brain wave components of N1,N2 and LPC during the processing of moral judgments.Behavioral Results:1)In terms of the score of moral intention judgment, there is a significant difference between the scores of moral behavior events of sports majors and those of general situations.Compared with the moral behavior events of general situational, the students majoring in sports have more higher scored of the judgment of moral intention in the situational moral behavior events. There is positively correlated of the moral intention judgment score in general and sports situation of sports major, but there is no correlation of the moral intention judgment score in general and sports situation of non-sports major.2)In reaction time, situational factors and moral titer have significant main effects of college students majoring in sports;situational factors have significant main effects of college students majoring in non-sports.ERP Results:1)In the incubation period of N2,the main effect of moral titer is significant, and the interaction between situation and moral titer is significant, both sports and non-sports major subjects showed a greater latency of N2 when making moral judgments about moral behavior events.2)On the average amplitude of LPC,the main effect of situational and the interaction between situation and moral titer is significant of non-sports major subjects. The average amplitude of LPC of non-sports majors in the sports context is smaller than that in the general situation. The results show that, the situation affects the processing of moral judgment of sports and non-sports major.Sports majors are more likely to identify with moral behavior in sports situations than non-sports majors, moral judgments in sports situations are more faster than non-sports,the development of sports and general morality is synchronous. The research further reveals the characteristics of the brain activity when subjects make moral judgments, which can supplement the relevant theoretical system of moral judgments.
