Locomotor skills means the ability to move oneself from one place to another independently and safely.It is the ability of the body to move in space and belongs to a basic motor skill.Moreover,pre-school age is a critical period for the development of young children's locomotor skills.Therefore,studying the development of locomotor skills and movement characteristics of 3-6 year old children and influencing factors of the development of 3-6 year old children's locomotor skills are conducive to come up with targeted education suggestions.The study was conducted from two aspects.In part Ⅰ,the research objects were 180 children aged 3-6 from Kindergarten A in Shanghai.Test of Gross Motor Development Third Edition(TGMD-3)was used to explore the present situation of the resultative and procedural development of locomotor skills in children aged3-6.Meanwhile,videos of children's tests were used to observe,analyse and conclude the features of children's locomotor skills.In part Ⅱ,from the perspective of travel modes and sports activities outside the kindergarten,knew about the basic situation of3-6 year old children's travel modes and participation in sports activities outside the kindergarten.Moreover,explored the impact of travel modes and sports activities outside the kindergarten on the development of children's locomotor skills combined with the results of part Ⅰ.The results show that:(1)there are certain age and gender differences in the locomotor skills of children aged 3-6 year old.In terms of age features,3-6 year-old children's locomotor skills gradually increases with age.In terms of gender features,there is no significant gender difference between bottom class and middle class while there is significant gender difference in top class.Girls' locomotor skills develop better than boys'.(2)there are development advantages and disadvantages in the locomotor skills of children aged 3-6.run and slide are body movements with a high starting point and a good grasp in 3-6 year old children.Gallop is a moderately difficult movement.Hop,skip,and horizontal jump are disadvantaged movement in 3-6 year old children's locomotor skills.(3)Walk has a positive impact on the development of locomotor skills in children aged 3-6.With the increase of children's walking time,the locomotor skills have also improved.(4)Running,mall recreational activities can promote the locomotor skills of children aged 3-6.And with the increase in the frequency and duration of activities,the level of children's locomotor skills are higher.
