| The International Journal of the History of Sport,formerly British Journal of Sports History,was founded in The UK in 1984 by Tony Mangan.The International Journal of the History of Sport is the only academic journal of sports history with the word international at present.It has considerable international influence and is regarded as a professional international journal of sports history.The research object of this dissertation is football theses in The International Journal of the History of Sport from the year 2010 to 2019.This dissertation discusses the contents,values,characteristics,deficiencies and inspirations of the topic selection of football theses in The International Journal of the History of Sport by using the methods of literature,and comparative analysis.It tries to present the research content and direction of the football theses in The International Journal of the History of Sport and present the characteristics of football topic selection in the field of current international research of sports history.The research results are as follows(1)In the past 10 years,The International Journal of the History of Sport has published a wide range of football topics,which basically covers all aspects of football culture research.And as a comprehensive academic journal of sports,it has its own characteristics in selecting topics.Reviewing the topics of football in it in the past 10 years,people can find that the researches on the origin of football,match fixing,women's football and nationalism are hot topics(2)The values of the selected topics of football theses in The International Journal of the History of Sport are as follows.Firstly,it helps to explore the origin of football and find the connections between the origin of football and the development of modern England.Secondly,it helps people to face the strange phenomena of football and probe deeply into the fairness of football.Thirdly,it makes people face squarely the predicament of women's football and seek the balance of women's sports.Fourthly,it will promote the trend of football globalization and encourage the inclusiveness and multi-ethnic nature of football(3)The selection of topics of football theses in The International Journal of the History of Sport presents the following characteristics.Firstly,with the agreement between the international outlook and the historical outlook,and the research method of historical view,The International Journal of the History of Sport always holds its original intention and advantage,which are also the academic style of the whole j ournal Secondly,The International Journal of the History of Sport includes almost all the football culture topics,even those full of controversy,political sensitivity,and the negative aspect of football.Thirdly,it tends to research the problems in Asia,including the topics of China,Japan and South Korea,the overall research on Asian football,and the connection between football and politics in Asian(4)The shortcomings of the topic selection of football theses in The International Journal of the History of Sport are as follows.First,the angle of in the following aspects.Researchers should pay attention to the excavation and arrangement of historical materials,strengthen the understanding of other countries football culture,and establish the concept of topic selection in globalization.And they should make use of the relevant achievements and research methods in The International Journal of the History of Sport to explore the connections between the origin of Chinese ancient football and modern football.By strengthening the understanding of the football culture of other countries,we can see the advantages and disadvantages of the development of Chinese football,and understand the differences in different countries' views of football,so as to understand the various phenomena and disputes in the field of football in a new scholars,the study of football has transcendent and professional significance.This dissertation summarizes the most-researched topics of football such as the origin of football,match fixing,women's football and nationalism in the football in The International Journal of the History of Sport.It sums up the values,research contents and characteristics of the topic selection in recent ten years in The International Journal of the History of Sport.While reviewing the development of international football,it also explores the foreland cognition of football culture and football history of the international community.By studying The International Journal of the History of Sport from the perspective of football,we can not only examine the diversity and complexity of football from an international perspective,but also understand the communication and collision between football and world cultures. |
