In December 2016,11 departments including the Ministry of Education issued the “Opinions on Promoting the Study Tour of Primary and Secondary School Students”,emphasizing that “local primary and secondary schools should integrate the study tour into the primary and secondary education plan.In light of the local conditions,the comprehensive practical curriculum should also be taken into account to promote the organic integration of research travel and school curriculum.The promulgation of this policy has made the study tour officially on the stage of China's education.However,the current frequency of study tour in less developed areas is relatively low,facing many difficulties,and there is very little research on high school geography study tour in less developed areas.The purpose of this study is to explore the dilemma faced by high school geography study tour in less developed areas,to propose solutions and provide guidance for frontline teachers to conduct high school geography study tour.By using methods such as literature analysis method,interview method,questionnaire survey method,case design method,etc.,this study takes the development of Xinhua County High School geography study tour as an entry point to investigate the current situation of research travel activities in some high schools in Xinhua County.It carries out the problems existing in the study tour activities,proposes solution strategies and puts forward the design principles of the research plan with the characteristics of Xinhua County.When sorting out the design process of the case study,a research case is designed with the example of the terraced fields in Ziquejie of Xinhua County.The research shows that schools in Xinhua County are still in the exploratory stage of study tour currently,and the current status of study tour is not optimistic,mainly reflected in:(1)the government has not publicized and supervised the research travel timely,which lead to a lack of perfect organizational mechanism;(2)the frequency of conducting research trips is low,and there are great concerns about security issues;(3)teachers lack of active autonomy and research ability,so they have not actively explored the implementation of research travel;(4)students' main status in research travel has not been effectively implemented;(5)parents do not know much about the study tour,and the lack of research funding affects its smooth development.To solve these problems,we need the joint efforts of all parties:(1)the government should increase publicity and supervision,and establish a sound working mechanism;(2)schools should change the concept of education and teaching,and establish perfect security for research travel;(3)teachers can improve their research abilities through multiple channels and become advocates of research travel;(4)properly handle the relationship between “tour” and “study” during the study tour,and improve the student's subject status;(5)establish a home-school linkage mechanism and implement funding for research in various aspects.Finally,the design of the research program should focus on highlighting the student's subject status,so that educational,practical,and universal research cases can be desined based on the content of the textbook and the actual situation in the local area.
