Reading becomes unlimited by time and location because Internet and digital devices are really popular in media era,and the way of reading also unavoidably has gotten revolution to children.Digital reading increasingly causes great attention as a way of reading.Digital reading resource has become a part of reading resource for children because of many unique advantages such as easy search of source and portable reading device.Even though digital reading resource of children is developing vigorously,there are still some questions such as uneven quality,weak reading interest and experience for readers.On the above questions,ARCS Model was introduced to the research for exploring digital reading resource of children in accordance with learners' demand and reading request in the standards of National Language Curriculum for primary school.Iterative design of resource and operation process were developed innovatively.The objective of the research was analyzing the operation process and effect that typical Motivation Model combined with exploring digital reading resource of children.The research was divided into four parts:Part 1: Raising questions.Sketching the background,present state,significance,research method and research process.Part 2: Clarifying the concept and theory.Some keywords in the research were defined such as Digital Reading,Digital Literacy and Reading Literacy.The research was supported in theory through explaining Dual Coding Theory,Theory of Humanism,and SAM Model.Part 3: Iterative design of resource and adoption of Action Research Method.Action Research Method and Interdisciplinary Research Method were adopted and divided into two parts to operate.First,a project was established for Z primary school,and the requirement of the iterative design was confirmed.Second,iterative design model of digital reading resource under ARCS Model was constructed,and the principle was clarified so that the research could be proceeded.The design in first round was finished and tested through making plan,analyzing learners' requirement,establishing reasonable knowledge structure,proposing educative,situational and interactive strategy.In second round,the design was optimized again based on the feedback from the test in first round,and then the result was summarized by practical analysis.Part 4: Summary and suggestion.Iterative design model of digital reading resource for children under ARCS Model and the process of applying Action Research Method were summed up.Some suggestions were made for the related questions which were found in the research.The result of the test showed that a bilingual e-book of Classical Chinese poetry in Chinese and English was really welcome to the learners.The e-book was named The Soul of Chinese Poetry and was designed to display in 3D with photo,video and audio under ARCS Model.After the bilingual e-book was tested,reading literacy and study initiative of learners was improved.In the future,the research will be hopefully improved in theory and practice so that digital reading resource of children will be developed.
