As a traditional sport in China,basketball has the characteristics of confrontation,skill,and teamwork.It is welcomed and loved by middle school students.On Xuancheng Middle School campus,basketball is in full swing,and it is gradually becoming a beautiful landscape.Regular participation in basketball not only helps to improve interpersonal relationships and interpersonal skills,but also enhances the awareness of teamwork.It also has a certain impact on physical and mental quality.This article uses questionnaires,interviews and other methods to study the general situation of basketball development in Xuancheng,the current situation of basketball development in middle schools and the influencing factors.Research shows that the current basketball teaching content of Xuancheng Middle School mainly includes basic basketball theory,basic technology,basic tactics,referee rules and basketball games.In most sports teaching,basketball lessons are only arranged in individual weeks of a semester.In teaching,teachers have relatively simple means,and their teaching evaluation mainly includes the extent of progress,affective performance,cooperative spirit,and attendance.The number of female teachers in Xuancheng Middle School is low,the age structure is aging,teachers' titles and education are low,and basketball teachers are few.Xuancheng Middle School has fewer basketball courts and cannot meet the needs of students in class and extracurricular activities.The teachers and students of the school are not very satisfied with the situation of the basketball court.The experimental results of basketball teaching show that in terms of physical fitness indicators,there are significant differences in the physical fitness test indicators between the experimental group students and before the experiment.Speed quality,sensitivity quality,strength quality and endurance quality all have obvious promoting effects,but the effect on flexibility qualities is not obvious enough.In terms of psychological quality factors,male and female middle school students in the experimental group had highly significant differences in the two factors of interpersonal tension,sensitivity,and emotional imbalance before and after the experiment,and significant differences in the three factors of anxiety,learning stress,and maladjustment.,But there were no significant differences in compulsiveness,paranoia,hostility,depression,psychological imbalance,and overall mental health performance.The experimental results show that the effect of improving the psychological quality of the students in the experimental group is significantly higher thanthat in the control group,suggesting that basketball plays a significant role in the six psychological factors of middle school students' tension and sensitivity in interpersonal relations,emotional imbalance,anxiety,learning stress and maladjustment enhancement.
