Since the reform and opening up,the scale of the floating population in China's big cities has expanded, and the social circle has also expanded continuously.Shanghai is one of the largest cities in China. It's of great value to explore the current intermarriage situation and influencing factors. This study is to present the overall situation and spatial exchange characteristics of intermarriage among floating population in Shanghai, which objectively reflects the intermarriage of floating population in Shanghai.Furthermore,it provides case analysis for theoretical research on population migration and mobility and reference basis for urban marriage registration management and other macro decisions. The data is based on Dynamic Monitoring Data of migrants in Shanghai during the period of 2015-2017.With the methods of spatial analysis and Logistic regression models, this study explores the intermarriage characteristics of Shanghai's married floating population at different spatial scales, and compares the sociological composition between the intermarried and non-intermarried people. The influencing factors are also elucidated from the aspects of demographic factors,socio-economic factors and flow experience factors. The conclusions are as follows:First of all,the proportion of inter-provincial intermarriage of Shanghai's married floating population is 12%;the number of inter-provincial intermarriage of floating population in Shanghai far exceeds the number of marriages between residents and migrants.(The intermarriage of floating population in the study does not include the marriage between Shanghai residents and migrants). The proportion of intermarriage across provinces of migrant women is only slightly higher than that of men, while the proportion of long-distance intermarriage is also higher than that of men. There is no linear relationship between the proportion of floating population intermarriage and the age, which means that the radius of intermarriage circle is unlikely to expand rapidly in the future. It's observed that people with the higher education level and professional status, the greater proportion of interregional marriages are more prone to the long-distance marriages across provinces. The proportion of the population in East China is the highest when inter-regional marriage happens.Based on the results of descriptive analysis and model analysis gender, age, household registration nature, education level and duration of floating population are important influencing factors of the intermarriage circle of floating population.Cross-provinces married floating population is relatively younger, with a greater age difference, higher education level, higher professional status, higher income, higher willingness to stay in shanghai and longer average residence time than those non-intermarriaged.However,the possibility of intermarriage for the youngest and longest-lived floating population is not the greatest. As for the influencing factors, there are differences among behaviors at cross-districts,cross-counties and cross-provinces scales.Compared with men, women are less likely to intermarry across districts and counties, but they are more likely to intermarry across province.Other variables are concordant with conclusions of other studies. The significance of intermarriage across provinces is generally higher, which may be due to the small sample size across districts and counties.
