With the gradual advancement of the modernization process of higher education,the complexity of the operating environment of colleges and universities is getting higher and higher,and the problems of internal management of colleges and universities are becoming more and more prominent.In this context,universities have actively explored the innovation of management systems,and some outstanding university management system innovations have been widely promoted,but many university management system innovations have not formed an effective diffusion.Then,how is the diffusion of university management system carried out in the end? In the face of a university management system innovation,why are some colleges adopted,and some universities do not adopt,and what are the basic models of university management system diffusion?This paper attempts to analyze the diffusion of university management system by using proximity effect theory and organizational difference theory.The paper constructs the "space distance-organizational difference" analysis framework from the two dimensions of spatial distance and organizational difference and proposes four modes of university management system diffusion: direct imitation,learning re-modeling,cautious reference,and diffusion blocking.The four diffusion modes have different performances in structural characteristics and diffusion processes,resulting in different institutional diffusion effects.Through the case study method,the fingerprint attendance of colleges and universities in Guangxi is taken as a case.Combined with the adoption of fingerprint attendance in colleges and universities in Guangxi,the diffusion patterns of the four university management systems proposed in this paper are verified,and the diffusion results of different diffusion models are discussed.The study finds that the proximity effect in the process of university management system diffusion is remarkable,especially the institutional innovation of the founding colleges and universities has promoted the adoption of the system by its surrounding universities,while the potential adopters in the distance are more cautious about institutional innovation and need to be more Strong and more direct influence will prompt the decision to adopt it;the university management system is prone to spread among colleges with small organizational differences,and when there is a proliferation between colleges with large organizational differences,the university will follow the requirements of the university.And conditions to re-innovate the system to meet the actual situation of the university;the exchange of leading cadres between universities is conducive to the proliferation of the university management system,specifically the transfer of university leading cadres to other universities,there is a great possibility Bring the original innovation experience or system to the new land,so as to achieve institutional diffusion.According to the research conclusions of this paper,the suggestions for promoting the diffusion of the management system of colleges and universities in China are put forward:First,build a platform for innovation and exchange of management systems in colleges and universities,and realize timely and effective dissemination of institutional innovation information;second,enhance interaction between universities and smooth communication channels;third,rational choice The institutional innovation pilot universities will promote the diffusion of institutional innovation;the fourth is to improve the exchange rotation system of university leaders and improve the awareness and ability of leaders to spread the system.
