Group Work Research On Promoting Interpersonal Communication Of The Elderly

As China's aging population deepens and family structure changes,more and more elderly people begin to enter professional pension institutions.Although institutional pension services are constantly developing and improving,they are increasingly becoming an important way to solve the problem of old-age care in China.However,while providing services such as life care and medical care for the elderly,these institutions often overlook the spiritual needs of the elderly,especially the elderly.Interpersonal needs.Due to its unique disciplinary advantages,the social work profession has been recognized by the society for promoting interpersonal communication.Therefore,exploring a set of social work to promote the practice of residential care for the elderly has become an important topic of practical and theoretical significance.During the internship at the S Hospital in Fuzhou,the author found that the elderly in the hospital generally had problems such as low social frequency,poor group communication,and lack of social opportunities.On the basis of literature research,this paper deeply analyzes the causes of interpersonal communication problems among the elderly in the hospital,and selects some elderly people with interpersonal communication obstacles as the main body of activeness,adopts the reciprocal model of group work,and is guided by system theory and field theory.Through the five-group activities,meet the interpersonal needs of the elderly to increase the frequency of interaction,improve social skills,and create common topics.The evaluation results show that the group members increased the frequency of interaction with people,gained the skills of interpersonal communication,formed the topic base of communication,and the group intervention produced certain effects.Finally,it summarizes and reflects on the advantages and disadvantages of the group process,and puts forward some suggestions in combination with the actual situation,which provides a reference for the practice model and the possibility of continuing research for promoting the interpersonal communication of the elderly in the future.
