Assessment occupies an important position in the Science classroom.Variety of assessment becomes the important feature of assessment reform under the background of new curriculum reform.The Compulsory Primary School Science Curriculum Standards states that: the Primary Science Curriculum is a core curriculum in the compulsory education phase with the aim of cultivating students' scientific literacy.Primary school Science teaching assessment aims to inspire students' interest and self-confidence,adopting an assessment which is suitable for student' physical and mental development and cognitive level with the feature of diversity.Therefore,with the implementation of the new curriculum reform,the author uses the portfolio assessment —the new type of evaluation.This paper,through experiments and questionnaires,with the Xicun Primary School's fifth graders as the subjects,aims to find out if portfolio assessment is an effective way to arouse students' interest and promote students' autonomous learning ability by constructing their own portfolio in the process of Science learning.The experimental results show that: 1.Students have a positive opinion on portfolio evaluation;2.Portfolio evaluation can improve students' interest in learning;3.Through portfolio evaluation,students develop independent learning habits and gradually cultivate preliminary scientific literacy..In the process of implementation,the author discovered some problems in the evaluation of portfolios;1.It takes time and effort in practical application,teachers and students spend a lot of time and energy to collect data;2.Portfolio evaluation is a qualitative The evaluation method is difficult to guarantee its effectiveness;3.It is difficult to make a scientific and reasonable evaluation of the student's portfolio;4.The standardization of portfolio evaluation is low.In response to these problems,the author puts forward some suggestions for the future based on his own opinions: 1.Combine the evaluation of the portfolio with the traditional evaluation to evaluate the students' learning more comprehensively;2.The school should be on the teacher from time to time.Carry outtraining on portfolio evaluation,so that teachers have higher evaluation theory literacy;3.In the implementation of portfolio evaluation,the diagnosis,development and encouragement functions should be highlighted;4.Future research can be from different schools or even different fields.Engage different subjects to improve the effectiveness and reliability of the research.I hope that through this study of portfolio evaluation,we can conduct portfolio evaluations for other researchers in the future.Especially in primary science education,it provides some valuable references for the application of portfolio assessment.
