With the continuous drive of scientific and technological innovation, the technology of adding materials represented by 3D printing technology has become the development trend of manufacturing industry in the future. In recent years, the ministry of education and the ministry of human resources and social have launched a number of policies to encourage the cultivation of 3D printing technology applied talents and to promote relevant courses in vocational colleges.3D printing technology itself is a kind of Mechatronics technology, which is the product of multi-science integration of machinery, electronics and information science.STEAM education just pays attention to the cultivation of compound talents, and emphasizes the multi-disciplinary integration of knowledge structure. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to apply STEAM education to the teaching design of 3D printing course for mechanical specialty in vocational schools. In this context, through combing and learning a large number of domestic and foreign literature, this study deeply understands the steam education and teaching mode, and defines the two concepts. After analyzing the teaching cases of typical 3D printing course in primary and secondary schools and the current situation of 3D printing teaching in secondary vocational schools, the basic process of 3D printing teaching mode of mechanical major in secondary vocational school based on steam is designed in combination with the basic teaching mode design theory, and the teaching objectives, teaching contents, teaching methods, teaching environment, teaching activities and teaching evaluation are expounded Etc.On this basis, select the relevant classes of my work unit to carry out teaching experiment research according to the design of teaching mode, and finally verify the effect of teaching experiment through questionnaires and interviews.During the implementation of this teaching mode,in order to reflect the characteristics of secondary vocational education, such as professional, employment oriented, local economy service, etc.,the teaching content has certain extension and expansion compared with the ordinary primary and secondary school 3D printing course, such as the addition of 3D printer maintenance, parts optimization and other teaching projects that emphasize engineering and technology. In order to better implement these teaching projects, the author integrates more dimensional courses, such as mechanical drawing, mechanical foundation, material science, etc.into steam education,so as to promote students' engineering and technical ability, and has higher comprehensive ability literacy than those who accept the traditional teaching mode. The conclusion of this study is: Based on the STEAM concept,we can guide the teaching design and implementation of 3D printing course of mechanical professional in secondary vocational schools. We can separate the 3D printing course of mechanical major in secondary vocational schools from other elective courses and expansibility courses of 3D printing courses in primary and secondary schools, and become a specialized course involving multi-disciplinary knowledge.Based on STEM model, the knowledge of many mechanical courses is integrated to help the study of 3D printing technology, and to improve the mastery level and practical application ability of other professional courses by using 3D printing technology. The development of teaching practice can effectively improve the engineering ability, skill ability, innovative thinking ability and the ability of unity and cooperation of secondary vocational school students, and make certain preparations for the employment-oriented secondary vocational school students to engage in the related work of 3D printing technology, regardless of knowledge or interest.
