The Influence Of The Level Of Material Structure On The Imagination From The Top Class Children's Stories

The structure level of materials is closely related to children's imagination,so it is necessary to pay attention to the specific influence of materials on children's imagination.In this study,82 children in a top class were selected.They were asked to work in groups of two to work with high structure materials and medium or low structure game materials respectively.The researchers recorded the stories told by the children during the game and made them qualitative.By analyzing the process of the story,the theme of the story,the relationship between materials and symbols and other dimensions,this paper sorts out the characteristics and similarities and differences of children's narrative imagination under the influence of different materials.The findings of this study:1.Under the influence of high-structure game materials,children's narrative imagination is mostly generated by magic elements.The characters have strong interrelationship with each other.2.Under the influence of low-structure game materials,children are more inclined to participate in imagination with body movements.Under the influence of low-structure game materials,children's story narrative imagination has diversified themes.Low-structure materials generate more symbols and more variability.3.Flowing intermediate materials can stimulate children's imagination,while some fixed intermediate materials can solidify children's imagination.4.Under the influence of game materials with different structure levels,children's story narrative imagination has differences.Under the influence of medium and low structure game materials,children's story narrative imagination is more complete,the story development logic is stronger,and the story plot is richer,rather than simple repetition.Under the influence of high structure materials,the characters in the narrative imagination have stronger interrelationship.5.When children use high-structure game materials,they can often quickly enter into the characteristic plots presented by the high-structure materials,and quickly establish the story characters and the relationship between the characters.When children use low-structure game materials,they need longer time to imagine,so as to establish the story characters and tell the story.
