With the introduction of Meiji Reform western thoughts,Japanese women's education began to develop.Under the influence of traditional thoughts,although primary and secondary education has been developed,the development of Japanese women's higher education has been difficult.This paper,taking Tokyo Women's higher normal school as an example,studies the "University upgrading movement" in the development of Japanese women's higher education in the first half of the 20 th century,and studies the process,achievements and various factors of the development of this process And the impact.This article is divided into three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The text includes the second,third,fourth,fifth and sixth chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the research object,the significance of the topic,research methods,ideas,innovation and shortcomings.The second chapter mainly introduces the development of women's secondary education in Japan at the end of the 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century,as well as the obstacles encountered in the development of women's higher education.The third chapter mainly describes the development of women's higher education in Japan before the Second World War and the rise of "University upgrading movement" in women's schools in Japan.The fourth chapter mainly narrates the progress of "University promotion movement" of women's schools under the influence of American occupation authorities after the Second World War,and finally achieves great achievements.The fifth chapter analyzes the domestic and foreign reasons for the achievements of the movement.The sixth chapter analyzes the political,economic and ideological significance of the development of Japanese women's higher education,and the long-term problem remains.The conclusion part summarizes the article The development of Japanese women 's higher education has achieved great results.The improvement of education level has greatly improved the social status of Japanese women and promoted the process of democratic social development in Japan.However,this achievement not only broadens the way for women to enter university,but also has problems and limitations.It mainly shows in the aspect of education content,focusing on the cultivation of liberal arts and home economics,and the idea of "be good wife and be good mother" still dominates.
