Clan,as the basic unit of traditional Chinese society,is a social bond based on blood relationship and geographical relationship.It firmly binds the members of a clan together through clan identity and clan activities.Clan is also an entry point for scholars from all walks of life to study traditional Chinese society.After the founding of new China,the clan phenomenon seems to have disappeared,but it still exists in many aspects of village society.In this article,a case study was conducted in Tiesuo Village,Jianshui County,Yunnan Province.The author conducted a 6-month field survey of the Li clan,Zhao clan,Yao clan,and Wang clan,and interviewed more than20 households.This article describes the current status of the clan culture in the village in terms of genealogy,shrines,patriarchs,clan sources,and the construction of clan identities.It also studies the distribution of clan power,the interaction between clan and formal power structure,and how clan influences folk politics Explain the actual influence of the clan culture in the village society.Clan,administrative power and villagers interacted in the power structure through interaction,and together constituted the social life operation of Tiesuo Village.Therefore,this study further recognizes how to guide informal powers similar to clan organizations,coordinate the benign interaction between informal and formal power subjects,establish a harmonious and stable power structure,and promote the establishment of a villager autonomy system in China And the healthy development of rural society.
