The effectiveness of teacher training is getting more and more attention at home and abroad.Teacher Education Program in American universities guarantees the training of primary and secondary school teachers with high quality,and its internal organizational structure is diverse and complete,and it is also a model to learn and reference for China.Therefore,this article conducts research on the organizational structure of teacher education programs in American universities,with a view to enlightenment on the construction of teacher education programs in China.Through the research on the characteristics of outstanding teacher education programs in American universities,it is found that it has four basic characteristics,namely: having clear training goals,focusing on coherence and consistency,having a multi-thinking staffing configuration and focusing on professional standards closely.There are four types of organizational structure for the American University Teacher Education Program: integrated mode,asymmetric mode,matrix mode and decentralized mode.Among these four organizational structures,the integrated model shows high standard centralization and cohesion,the asymmetric model shows clear boundaries and decentralization,the matrix model shows division of labor and cooperation,and the decentralized model shows high independence and independence.In addition,these four organizational structures have the characteristics of attaching importance on organizational leadership,clarifying internal divisions,and focusing on the source of teacher educators.This paper makes a comparative study of the four organizational structures based on the basic characteristics of outstanding teacher education programs in American universities.Through the research,it is found that the matrix model has the best effect among the four organizational structures,and it can ensure the realization of the education function in teacher education programs.Most of the outstanding teacher education programs in American universities also adopt this model.However,it is inadequate to judge the education effect of the teacher education project just from the organizational structure.The function of the teacher education project still needs to consider many factors,and it needs comprehensive consideration.China has been reforming teacher education for a long time.It is one of the current status of teacher education reform to establish a teacher education college to improve the effectiveness of teacher education programs in China.In order to promote teacher education programs in Chinese universities better,this article combines Chinese current actual situation,starting from the experience and effectiveness of the organizational structure from outstanding teacher education programs in American universities,through the choice of organizational structure and the internal construction of the organizational structure to provide experience for teacher education programs in Chinese universities.In the choice of organizational structure,the universities in China that have established separate teacher education colleges should consider adopting the integrated mode to build teacher education projects within the teacher education colleges;while the universities without separate teacher education colleges should consider adopting the matrix mode to build teacher education projects.From the internal structure of the organizational structure,Chinese teacher education programs should do the following: giving full play to the role of leadership in teacher education programs,focusing on the selection of teacher educators in the project,clarifying talent training goals in the project,and asking the government to provide clear policy support for programs.
