The education reform has stepped into the 3.0 era now,the development of students' core qualities has become a major issue in the education.Compared with the traditional teaching,the unit teaching is more suitable for the current reform.Becae it focuses on the structural of the curriculum.In view of this,the author launched the practice research of unit teaching design.And it based on the new curriculum standards,new textbooks,the new college entrance examination.This paper discusses the significance of unit teaching in developing students' core qualities and improving teachers' professional qualities.Literature review of the research process of unit teaching,unit teaching design at home and abroad.Then expound the concepts of unit,unit teaching and unit teaching design,construct the theoretical basis for unit teaching design.In order to know the situation of the unit teaching design in chemistry teaching and learning in high school students,survey teacheres and students.Combined with the analysis results of the questionnaire survey and based on gestalt psychology and ADDIE's model theory,summarize five basic links of unit teaching design:(1)determine unit theme and select unit content;(2)analyze teaching elements and set unit objectives;(3)make class hour plan and determine teaching ideas;(4)determine teaching strategies and design teaching activities;(5)make teaching evaluation and improve teaching design.Then based on the new curriculum standard and the new textbook published,"sodium and its compounds" were selected as the teaching unit.The teaching design of "sodium and its compounds" unit was studied as a teaching case,and two parallel classes were selected to implement the unit teaching and the traditional teaching.Finally,the teaching effect of unit teaching is analyzed through unit test results.The teaching practice shows that the unit teaching is easier for students to construct the knowledge network system and understand the knowledge deeply.Therefore,the teaching design of the unit is guided by the goal of "core quality",and the change from "knowledge oriented" to "quality oriented" is conducive to the development of students' core quality.
