Good preschool education can lay the foundation for children's subsequent learning and lifelong development.Improving the quality of preschool education and preparing excellent preschool teachers have gradually become an international consensus.Early childhood education and care in England is very famous around the world,which is closely related to its emphasis on the training of early years workforce.On the basis of combing the qualification system of early years workforce in England,this paper focuses on the new qualification introduced in 2013 in England-Early Years Teacher Status(EYTS),using the literature method,case method and comparison method to analyze the qualification setting background,qualification standards,implementation specifications and problems.The study found that the England Early Years Teacher Status(EYTS)is standard-oriented and it has quality-based multiple training paths and sound quality assurance mechanisms.However,there are also some problems,the social recognition of the qualification is still low,the number of people participating in training is declining,and the gender ratio is seriously imbalanced.China is strengthening the construction of preschool teachers,carrying out the reform of childcare integration for children aged 0-6,and has launched an excellent kindergarten teacher training project since 2014.The England Early Years Teacher Status(EYTS)program can provide a lot of experience for China,such as broaden the way of training excellent preschool teachers on the basis of quality;establish an integrated preschool teacher training system for 0-6 years old children;improve the treatment of preschool teachers to attract excellent talents to engage in preschool education.
