With the gradual deepening of curriculum reform,reading becomes more and more important in Chinese teaching.Extracurricular reading subjects are novel,rich in content,and diverse in form,which are useful supplements and effective extensions of in-class reading.It plays an important role in improving students' reading taste,developing language sense,improving aesthetic taste and writing ability,etc.With the college entrance examination reform and the changing reading environment in the new media era,Students' extracurricular reading activities is facing unprecedented challenges.This article takes the extracurricular Chinese reading situation of senior high school students in Zhangzhou No.3 Middle School as the research object,with questionnaires,teacher and student interviews,analyzing the current situation of students' extracurricular reading and its causes,and propose corresponding adjustment strategies.The study is divided into four parts:The First part: Discuss the era requirements and practical significance of extracurricular reading.It is mainly carried out in terms of curriculum standards,quality education,college entrance examination reform,and new media development.The second part: Questionnaire survey of extracurricular reading of students in Zhangzhou Third Middle School.And sort out statistics and summarize analysis of survey results.the third part: Start with students,schools,and families,analyzing the current situation and causes of extracurricular reading of freshmen.the fourth part: Aiming at the current situation of high school freshmen's Chinese extracurricular reading,put forward corresponding solutions.
