As far as reading is concerned,it concerns the future and destiny of individuals,nations,and countries.In the Chinese Curriculum Standard for Senior High School(2017 Edition)(hereinafter referred to as the "Curriculum Standard"),it is clearly pointed out that students in senior high school should strengthen reading in and out of class,cultivate extensive reading interest and habits,improve reading taste,master reading methods,and improve reading ability.It can be seen that extracurricular reading plays an important role in students' reading activities by broadening their horizons,appreciating the human society and culture,experiencing the excellent traditional Chinese culture,revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture,improving their ability of using language and improving their ideological and cultural cultivation,and enriching their spiritual world.Therefore,under the guidance of the concept of "Curriculum Standard",this paper makes an investigation and research on the extracurricular reading of senior high school students in Yining City,deeply analyzes the existing problems in the extracurricular reading of senior high school students,and explores the countermeasures for improvement.In this study,using the methods of questionnaire,interview and classroom observation,taking S senior high school students in Yining City as the research object,the questionnaire design is carried out from three aspects: the subjects of extracurricular reading,the process of extracurricular reading and the objects of extracurricular reading.Through the investigation,the existing problems are analyzed and discussed,and the improvement countermeasures are put forward.The structure of this paper is as follows:In the introduction part,the basic issues of the research are mainly the reason of choosing the topic,the significance of the research,the literature review at home and abroad,and the research ideas and methods.In the first chapter,the core concepts of reading and extra-curricular reading are defined,and the theoretical basis for high school students to carry out extra-curricular reading is proposed,which lays a solid theoretical foundation for the later research.In the second chapter,it investigates the basic situation of the current high school students' extracurricular reading in Yining City in the form of questionnaires and interviews.Based on the statistical analysis of data,it objectively and truly presents the problems existing in the students' extracurricular reading,mainly as follows: the motivation of students' extracurricular reading tends to be impure,the ability of extracurricular reading is deficient and the quality is poor;teachers lack guidance for students' extracurricular reading,the evaluation system of extracurricular reading is not mature;the utilization rate of extracurricular reading resources in schools is not high,the support conditions for extracurricular reading are insufficient;parents' support actions for extracurricular reading are not enough,etc.As for the existing problems,this paper analyzes the reasons from the perspectives of students,teachers,schools,and parents.In the third chapter,aiming at the problems of induction,it puts forward the improvement countermeasures from the four levels of school,teachers,parents,and students.In the aspect of schools,they should integrate reading resources and create a "happy reading space" for students from two aspects: the construction of extracurricular reading curriculum system and the creation of extracurricular reading learning community;In the aspect of teachers,they should strengthen the guidance of extracurricular reading and improve the evaluation system of extracurricular reading to improve students' reading quality and promote students' ability to read;In the aspect of parents,they should strengthen the awareness of extracurricular reading,create a family with reading atmosphere,and promote students to "enjoy reading";In the aspect of students,they should improve reading literacy,correct reading attitude,temper reading will,form good reading habits,learn cross media reading,enrich reading channels,and "love reading".The last part of this paper is the conclusion,appendix,and so on.
