Math picture book is one of the good tools for learning math.In recent years,math picture books have been widely valued by many scholars and researchers,and have been developed into an important curriculum resource and introduced into the mathematics classroom of elementary schools.Mathematics is a rational subject.If young students do not reply on specific situations when learning mathematics,they often have difficulty understanding the abstract mathematical knowledge.The application of math picture books in the mathematics teaching of the lower grades of elementary school can provide students with meaningful mathematics situations and concretize abstract mathematical knowledge in the form of stories and picture,which enable students to increase mathematical knowledge,develop positive mathematical experience,and cultivate the awareness of applied mathematics.And it also broadens the exiting mathematics learning content and learning methods.In this study,we first get a general understanding of the research status and trends of math picture books through literature analysis.After that,by analyzing different math picture books,we summarize the characteristics and application principles of picture books,and divide math picture books into three basic types.In order to understand the application of math picture books in primary school mathematics teaching,a questionnaire survey was conducted on primary school math teachers in Xiamen.The questionnaire mainly designed around the perspectives of teachers' understanding of math picture books,their research on math picture books,and their ability to apply math picture books.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Teachers have a clear understanding of math picture books,but their knowledge of math picture books is not deep enough;(2)Only some schools and a few teachers will apply math picture books to mathematics teaching.This teaching model has not been widely popularized and applied;(3)Most teachers hold a positive attitude to the value of math picture books,but they only pay little attention to it;(4)Although teachers lack experience in applying math picture books,they have the ability to apply math picture books.According to the application of math picture books and the practical problems raised by other researchers,combined with the characteristics,categories and application principles of math picture books,this study strategizes the application of math picture books according to a certain order of application.From the selection,processing,use and extension of math picturebooks,a set of application strategies of math picture books in the teaching of lower grade mathematics is summarized.Finally,according to the proposed application strategy,we design three specific teaching cases,so that the teachers can apply of math picture books.This research has a certain reference value for the teachers to carry out math picture book teaching practice in the primary school mathematics teaching.
