The age of picture-books has arrived. With its increasing charming characteristic, picture-book is becoming a "new star" among various art teaching resources.In this paper, the author reconstructs the art class according to the theme conveyed by the picture-books, trying to make picture-book and art education for beginners tally with each other perfectly. In the process of teaching, diverse research methods are adopted, such as the field investigation, questionnaire, interviews, which provides a solid theory basis for the application of picture-book in the primary school’s art teaching. This paper attempts to inquiry into how picture-book can be used in the primary school’s art teaching for lower grades, demonstrated by specific teaching cases to prove its feasibility and superiority, and then implementation and teaching suggestions are given based on it.The paper consists of five parts.Part I:Firstly, the paper has a literature review of the related documents both at home and abroad, grasping the development trend of picture-book, and then puts forward the theoretical significance and practical significance of the paper. Secondly, research contents and methods are settledPart II:Firstly, some related concepts are clarified and defined, making their meanings clear-cut. Secondly, the relevance between picture-book and art teaching in the primary school is explained through the interpretation of art curriculum standard and examples in art teaching textbooks. Finally, the paper concludes the necessity and possibility of using picture-books in primary school’s art teaching by analyzing the status quo of it in the primary school and students’needs.Part Ⅲ:According to the related theories, the paper puts forward the principles of adopting picture-book in the primary school’s art teaching and then gives a suggestion for its classification.Part Ⅳ:The paper proves the feasibility and superiority by using picture-book in the primary school’s art teaching for lower grades with specific teaching cases. Through the teaching practice, a conclusion is made:picture-book is suitable for the fine arts class in the primary school. Implemented in the form of unit, it can be extended in a variety of ways in art teaching activities. By adopting picture-book in art class for lower grades, students’interest in expression of picture will be improved. Also, it’s possible that primary school students can make topic pictures by following the concept of curriculum integration to guide teaching practice.Part V:The paper analyzes the value of picture-book for primary school art teaching, and then makes a conclusion and puts forwards some teaching suggestions.
