Comparative Study On "Number And Algebra" In Middle School Textbooks

The reform of textbooks is the core link of China's basic education curriculum reform.Mathematics textbooks are important materials for teaching and learning in mathematics.Comparing research between mathematics textbooks has become a frontier problem in the field of current mathematics education.The mainland and Taiwan share the same origin and have similar cultural backgrounds.This article selects the contents of the "Number and Algebra" part of the textbooks in the mainland Suke Version and Taiwan Kangxuan Version,and compares the textbooks in the two places.The reform of textbooks in China is of great significance for reference.At the same time,it can also provide some suggestions for improvement of Taiwanese textbooks,and it must truly realize the value of education in mathematics.This paper uses literature research method,statistical analysis method and comparative analysis method to conduct a comparative study on the two major aspects of "structure and content" and "exercise problem presentation" in the "Number and Algebra" part of the textbooks of the two places.Compare the writing style,arrangement order,presentation method,and problem situation,definition expression,editing style,and mathematical cultural penetration in the structure from a macro perspective,and from the micro perspective,type,quantity,material,difficulty,answering process and the structure,quantity,and function of the exercises are compared,and finally relevant conclusions are drawn,and suggestions are made for the improvement of the teaching materials and the use of teachers and students.Through comparative research,the conclusions reached are as follows:(1)In terms of structure,the compilation methods of the two versions of the textbooks are not much different,but the "mathematics window" added by Kangxuan Version is more cutting-edge;the editing sequence adopted by Suke Version is decentralized,and the knowledge points are spiraling.Kangxuan Version is arranged in a centralized manner;the overall presentation of Kangxuan Version itself is more exquisite than Suke Version.(2)In terms of content,Suke Version has a larger proportion of problemsituations in introducing new knowledge than Kangxuan Version,which is more attractive to students;Kangxuan Version has a more rigorous definition than Suke Version;Suke Version chooses in terms of editing style Although there are a lot of illustrations,the interesting and implied culture is somewhat lacking compared to Kangxuan Version;the mathematical and cultural penetration of Kangxuan Version is more in place than that of Suke Version.(3)In terms of example exercises,through the number of example questions,Kangxuan Version is far more than Suke Version,which reflects that Kangxuan Version attaches more importance to the teaching process of teachers and the continuous consolidation of knowledge.Most of Kangxuan Version examples use purely mathematical problems.There are few specific contexts,but the contextual setting of Suke Version allows students to feel that mathematics is everywhere;in terms of difficulty,the easy-to-difficult mode set by Suke Version is more suitable for students' actual development needs.Based on the above conclusions,the author puts forward relevant suggestions for improving the textbooks of the two places in the "Number and Algebra" section:The mainland Suke Version should continuously improve the internal connections between knowledge points in the same field,improve the selection and arrangement of example exercises,enhance the penetration of mathematical culture,attach importance to connections with other disciplines,improve the overall presentation and internal editing style.Taiwan Kangxuan Version should enhance the contextual creation of problem situations and example questions,optimize the difficulty setting and problem solving process of example questions,add chapter review materials,and focus on the simplicity of textbooks.Related suggestions for teachers and students:Teachers can creatively set problem situations according to teaching materials,reasonably select example exercises,and attach importance to the infiltration of mathematical culture in teaching.Students can understand the mathematical knowledge framework according tothe textbook,use the chapter head map to ask questions,and use the textbook resources to review the knowledge points.
