With the rapid development of social economy, people are no longer satisfied with the basic survival guarantee, and begin to pursue higher quality of life and spiritual prosperity.Happiness reflects residents' comprehensive evaluation of the overall situation of life, and is also a standard to measure the good state of society.Unbalanced economic development, widening income gap and inequality in social system restrict the improvement of residents' happiness. The important status of women in the family and society cannot be questioned. How to balance multiple roles of women and improve their subjective well-being is a prominent issue facing women.Based on the background of prominent social contradictions and unhappy status of female subjective well-being,this paper expounds the research significance of income inequality and social mentality on female subjective well-being.Based on the processed CGSS2015 survey data, this paper firstly conducts a descriptive analysis of female subjective well-being,and then selects an ordered Logit regression model to study the relationship between absolute income, relative income, income inequality, social mentality and subjective well-being,and conducts a robustness test. Then,Bootstrap method was used to test the mediating effect of social mentality. Finally, according to the original data of CGSS2015,the Gini coefficient of female income was calculated, and the HLM multi-layer linear regression model was used to explore the impact of objective income inequality on the relationship between absolute income and female social mentality. The results show that the overall level of subjective well-being of Chinese women is relatively high. Both absolute income and relative income have positive effects on female subjective well-being,but female subjective well-being depends on relative income rather than absolute income. The aggravation of subjective income inequality will reduce the level of female subjective happiness, while the higher the index of social mentality, the higher the level of female subjective happiness, but there are differences in individual characteristics and family characteristics.Social mentality plays an intermediary role between relative income, income inequality and female subjective well-being.Areas with high levels of polarization between rich and poor have lower social attitudes among high-income women residents. This shows that when there is income inequality in the society, the effect of income level on women's social mentality index is affected by income inequality, and there are regional differences.Based on the research results, the following Suggestions are put forward :(1)policies and measures should be adjusted according to the economic situation of each province, focusing on improving the relative income level of women. For low-income people, increasing absolute income and relative income level can significantly improve their happiness level.(2)If the government wants to improve the current social income inequality,it needs to create a social environment with balanced and fair distribution of resources.(3)To improve women's social mentality, encourage women to actively participate in social events, and establish a correct concept of happiness.
