English GCSE Chinese test is the most popular Chinese proficiency test in secondary education in the UK.The test consists of four parts: listening,speaking,reading and writing.However,the research on this test is very limited,and the level of the native English textbooks compiled with GCSE as the goal needs to be improved.In view of the close relationship between the teaching materials and the examination,this paper analyzes the GCSE Chinese examination,and summarizes the Enlightenment of the examination evaluation on the teaching materials through the statistical and analytical research on the progress exercise of the localized teaching materials in the UK,so as to explore the effective countermeasures for improving the localization teaching materials in the UK.Through the comparative study of the exercises of the progress textbook and the GCSE Chinese test syllabus,this paper finds that the exercises of grammar,vocabulary,listening,speaking,reading,writing and other speech skills of the textbook can basically meet the needs of the young Chinese learners who take part in the GCSE Chinese test,and the subjects and types of the exercises are covered in the GCSE Chinese test syllabus.The exercises in each part of the textbook cover all the subjects of GCSE Chinese test syllabus,but the focus and quantity are not evenly distributed.In terms of language knowledge,the grammar items and vocabulary coverage of grammar and vocabulary exercises are 91.2% and85.3% respectively.In terms of speech skills,this paper compares the syllabus with the textbook practice in terms of scoring standards,target ability requirements and test questions,and finds that the listening,speaking,reading and writing exercises of the textbook have a high degree of fit with the GCSE Chinese test syllabus,and the emphasis on the syllabus requirements appears more frequently in the practice of the textbook,which is more comprehensive.Finally,on the basis of the comparative analysis of the previous article,the paper puts forward some suggestions on the ideal degree of cooperation between textbook practice and GCSE Chinese test outline,and provides reference experience for the compilation of relevant textbooks for Chinese test.
