With the development of integrated circuits,the way to complete system functions has been completely changed to the way of using integrated chips.SoC(System on Chip)emerged as the times require.This paper chooses UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter)module based on AMBA(Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture)bus as the research subject,and studies the bus foundation of UART module.The register and basic function modules of UART module are mainly studied,and the functional verification of UART module is completed.The main contents of the study are divided into the following five parts.Firstly,the technology background and current situation of UART module based on AMBA protocol are studied.Among the three most influential bus protocols in the industry,AMBA bus stands out for its advantages of low power consumption,high performance and simple interface.UART has high flexibility and reliability,and still occupies a place in serial communication interface module.Secondly,the definition purpose and the typical framework of AMBA bus protocol and the general situation of AHB and APB bus are briefly discussed.The communication protocol and function of UART interface are briefly described.Thirdly,the overall architecture of UART module is deeply studied from the top-level structure,input and output interface,register definition and so on.And the operation process of UART is clarified.Next,the code structure of UART module is proposed.The design and implementation of UART module are completed.Finally,the verification and analysis of UART module are completed.In the process of studying UART module verification method,the verification results of conventional verification methods are not easy to read directly.Therefore,the verification scheme of the external UART_Checker module is proposed,and the verification results of the scheme are analyzed in detail.
