In the era of big data,the rapid development of information technology,VDT operation become the main form of workmanship to deal with mental work,including cognitive VDT continuous monitoring operation is widely used in various fields.With the diversification of information,the operator's mental needs continue to increase,increasing mental workload,thereby affecting the operator's performance and overall system performance.There are few studies on the performance of this operation through mental workload,and there is controversy about the relationship between mental workload and performance.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the cognitive VDT continuous monitoring operation performance from the point of mental workload.Considering the multidimensional construction of performance,this article takes the signal detection theory as the perspective,and studies the relationship between performance and mental workload from four dimensions: true positive rate,false positive rate,false negative rate and true negative rate.On this basis,builds a model of mental workload pattern recognition to propose a more reasonable work-rest schedule.This article combines the subjective measurement method and the sub-task measurement method,adopts a two-factor mixed experiment design,based on the experimental results,the main conclusions of the analysis are:(1)The subjective scale is composed of three dimensions: task difficulty,time pressure and psychological tension.It has high reliability and validity;it can be used as a subjective scale to evaluate mental workload of cognitive VDT continuous monitoring operation.(2)The five indicators of correct response time,time estimation error rate,task difficulty,time pressure and psychological stress are very sensitive to the change of mental workload,and can be used as an evaluation index for building a comprehensive evaluation system of mental workload.(3)Mental workload is an important factor that influences the performance of cognitive VDT continuous monitoring operation.When in low task difficultyconditions,mental workload increased with the duration of the operation,the true positive rate and true negative rate first decreased and then increased with the increased of mental workload,the false positive rate and false negative rate first increased and then decreased with the increased of mental workload;when in high task difficulty conditions,with the extension of the duration of the operation,the mental workload first increased and then decreased,the true positive rate,the false positive rate and mental workload were negatively correlated,the false negative rate,the true negative rate and mental workload were positively correlated.(4)Difficulty factor has a significant impact on mental workload,true positive rate,false positive rate,false negative rate and true negative rate.Time factor has a significant effect on mental workload,true positive rate,and false negative rate.And the impact on the false positive rate and the true negative rate is not significant.(5)Work-rest schedule: Using the mental workload model to identify the operator's mental workload,when the mental workload is mode 5,the operator carries out 5 minutes of closed eyes rest and 5 minutes of eye exercises;for mode 6,2 minutes of closed eyes rest and 3 minutes of eye exercises.After testing,the work-rest schedule has good applicability.
