At present,the regional economy plays a very important role in the process of economic development in China,and the regional economic development and the overall situation in the level of technology progress,to a certain extent depends on their own natural resources and special advantages,establish the regional characteristics of the industry through these resources and advantages.The characteristic industry not only can boost and promote the development of other related industries in the region,but also conducive to the optimal allocation of regional resources;the direction of the regional industrial structure has a guiding role,is conducive to industrial structure adjustment and upgrading,which can promote the industry of the coordinated development.Therefore,the correct choice and development of special industries,to promote regional economic development and industrial restructuring has a very important significance.The northwest of Liaoning province(Tieling,Chaoyang,Fuxin)are underdeveloped areas,is currently facing a "break through the northwest of Liaoning province " strategy of an important opportunity.Therefore,how to seize the unprecedented opportunities in the fierce market competition,select and develop local characteristics in accordance with local conditions,is the need to seriously consider the current regional economic development in Northwest of Liaoning province.Through the research results of the subject and optimize the industrial structure,accelerate the pace of regional economic development,as soon as possible out of poverty towards well-off,revitalization The northwest of Liaoning province.This paper is based on this background,the choice of characteristic industries in the northwest of Liaoning province was analyzed and studied.First of all,on the basis of combing the relevant research literature and theory of characteristic industry,the connotation and basic characteristics of the characteristic industry are defined,the difference between the concept of characteristic industry and other industries is expounded,the function of characteristic industry in the development of regional economy are analyzed deeply.Secondly,based on the above theory,combined with the regional characteristics and economic development in the northwest of Liaoning province,based on the objective,comprehensive and targeted combination,operational principles,the index system of selection and evaluation of the characteristics of the northwest of Liaoning province is constructed from three aspects,which are industry specialization,comparative advantage and competitive advantage.Then,using the principal component analysis to quantitatively analyze the evaluation indices of all the industrial enterprises above the scale in the three cities in the northwest of Liaoning province and combine the results of the qualitative analysis to determine the characteristic industries of Tie ling is the coal mining and washing industry,agricultural and sideline food processing industry,wine,beverage and refined tea manufacturing,general equipment manufacturing,special equipment manufacturing,electricity,heat production and supply industry;The characteristics of Fuxin city industry is coal mining and washing industry,leather,fur,feathers and its products and footwear,electricity,heat production and supply industry,general equipment manufacturing,metal products industry,agricultural and sideline food processing industry,non metallic mineral products industry,wood processing industry,furniture manufacturing industry.Finally,combined with the current situation of economic development in the northwest of Liaoning Province,the author puts forward a series of countermeasures and suggestions to promote the development of special industries.
