At the end of 2016,according to UN UNCOMTRADE and ITC statistics,Mexico is the 13th largest exporter in the world.Mexico is also a major producer of tropical fruits,including guava,mango,avocado,pineapple and other fruits,and the value and export volume of this type of product has been growing steadily for the past 10 years,maintaining its tenth largest export product position for the country and becoming the fourth largest exporter globally,However,at present,the main trading destination for this type of product is still the United States.About 83%of the export value of fruit and nuts in Mexico goes to the United States.This paper takes the export of Mexican fruit products to the world as the research object,and uses the data from 2007 to 2016 in order to:(1)Describe Mexico's fruit and nut exports to the world,and analyzes the structure and geographical distribution of export commodities based on the HS08 classification of;(2)Reveals Mexico's position in the world for the fruit and nut export category;demonstrates the export competitiveness of Mexico using global market share,its market share on importer countries,and a study of revealed advantage(RCA);(3)Analyze the influencing factors affecting the export competitiveness of Mexican fruits and nuts,and uses an econometric model to analyze the direction and degree of influence of each factor;(4)According to the analysis results,put forward the author's opinions and suggestions.The results show that the export structure of the Mexican fruit and nut industry is relatively a unitary system;the geographical distribution of exports is too dependent on the United States.In the entire industry,Mexico's comparative advantage has gradually expanded,but in terms of specific products,the advantages have declined,and its target export market needs to be diversified.
