As an important component of public infrastructure,road transportation plays a significant role in national economy growth.Transportation infrastructure and economy growth have been widely investigated by experts worldwide.It has become a vital research field researching the quantitative relationship between transportation infrastructure and economy growth with mathematic model method and the space relationship between transportation infrastructure and economy of different region.As a country with vast territory,different regions of China suffer from geolgraphic,natural and social economy factors leading to imbalance economic growth,and transportation infrastructure has different influence on economy of different regions.As a consequence,to make a theoretical reference for region development policy,thorough research on influence mechanism that transportation infrastructure development has on region economy growth,the quantitative relationship between those two aspects and spatial spillover effects within regions is of great importance,which also benefits sustainability of region economy growth.In order to analyze the relationship between investment on road transportation infrastructure and region economy growth over last decades and the spatial spillover effects within regions,Hunan Province as the research object was divided into three main regions:CZT region,South hunan region and Great xiangxi region referring to the combination with geographical location,economic development degree and regional plan of fourteen municipal within Hunan Province.Time series cointegration theory model and spatial spillover effect model were used as research method.It was found that,over the past decades,citizen economy growth and road transportation infrastructure investment of CZT region and Great xiangxi region both presented a long-term and stable quantitative relationship.Output elasticity coefficient that road transportation infrastructure investment had on region economy GDP was 0.717 in CZT region,while the coefficient in Great xiangxi region was 0.488.In spatial spillover effect model of three main region in Hunan Province,the existence of negative spatial spillover effect on region economy related to road transportation infrastructure of CZT region and South hunan region has been proved in this study.After analyzing the direct effect and spillover effect of road transportation infrastructure of different regions in Hunan Province,it was found that road transportation infrastructures of all three regions had positive effect on economy growth,and it sorts like:CZT region>South hunan region>Great xiangxi region.As a result,investment and project of road transportation infrastructures should be implemented properly in Hunan Province to accelerate the sustainable region economy growth.At the end of this paper,some recommendations are proposed on development layout of road transportation infrastructure of Hunan Province referring to the research.
