Reproduction,resulted from the joint of men and women,is the means to prolong the human race,the origin of social development,and the supply for expanding labor force.Reproduction matters not only to individual wellbeing and progress,but also to the advancement of a country and the society.Therefore,the study of the maternity insurance system is of realistic importance to the development of the country and the society.Being an important part of the social security system,the maternity insurance is established by the law to protect the reproduction rights of females,to acknowledge and respect the act of reproduction,to guarantee women's legal rights during reproduction,and to avoid any risks involved.The maternity insurance system came into being when the PRC was first founded.The system has been gradually advanced through exploring and developing,but the process is relatively slow and multiple problems emerged along the way.By applying theories to realities and analyzing the current maternity insurance system in Suzhou,the dissertation examines existing issues and offers solutions based on the study of the evolvement of the country's maternity insurance system,in the hope of offering assistance to future improvement in the system.
