Research On The Characteristic Development Strategy Of Finance And Industry Integration Of Bank Of Kunlun

The integration of finance and industry has become a high profile phenomenon recently in China.It has been noticed that more and more corporate heavyweights have invested in financial institutions and some of them even have gained controlling stake therein.Centrally administered SOEs have expressed highest enthusiasm in this regard and some of them have been approved to hold such financial industry licenses as banking,trust company,leasing,insurance,securities,fund and asset management as well as corporate financial firm.Bank of Kunlun(abbr.KLB),as a banking arm of CNPC,has formulated its development strategy of integration of finance and industry since the bank's inception and has reaped fruitful economic and social gains by building up the bank's business operations following CNPC industrial chain and the bank's cross border funds settlement chain.The characteristic industry finance integration strategy of KLB features the position and function of KLB in various levels and areas of the financial market,making KLB accomplishing its fast development in recent years and reputable market image.The thesis combines both literature research and case studies,analyzing the significance of integration of finance and industry as well as its the development history and status quo and envisaging the prospects of the integration practice.By using SWOT and Potter five forces analytical method,the thesis discusses KLB's competitive edges,disadvantages,opportunities and challenges.The thesis focuses on the Bank's corporate financial business and international banking business and elaborates the bank's integration development strategy by analyzing the bank's main revenue sources.Also,the thesis expounds the foundation and roles of KLB's integration practice from the perspective of the bank's controlling party – CNPC.The thesis puts forward suggestions in such areas as theory formulation of finance and industry integration,building-up of characteristic corporate culture,establishment of unique innovation modes as well as acceleration of business research and talent cultivation.Hopefully,the thesis can be beneficial to KLB's exploration of finance and industry integration and lead the research thereof into a higher stature.
