The Impact Of Relationship Governance Mechanism On Buyers' Environmental Performance:The Mediating Role Of Green Supplier Integration

The haze surrounding the city has caused the government and idividuals to pay more and more attention to the environment.Environmental policies and customer concerning about environmental pollution have caused the purchase company to implement environmental management.As people's environmental awareness increasing,improving environmental performance has become the key to obtaining sustainable development for buyers.At present,one of the key challenges companies facing in environmental sustainability is to promote them to other supply chain members.In fact,the poor environmental management of suppliers will affect the environmental performance of the buyer company.In the green supply chain management,each of buyer and supplier has its own interest pursuing,and the buyer's pursuiting of green products often adds new requirements to its suppliers' environmental performance in product supply,which may be contrary to the suppliers' interest.if dealting with such conflicts inappropriately,it's likely that the final result far from the goal of green supply chain management.Therefore,it is necessary for the buyer company to properly manage suppliers relationship and learn how to improve its environmental performance with the help of the supplier.However,whether the transactional mechanisms and relational mechanisms is conducive to improving the buyers' environmental performance and how to effectively improve is still lacking theoretical system research and empirical verification.Through the brief review the existing literature about companies' environmental performance at home and abroad,we can understand how manufacturing companies have improved their environment through supplier relationship governance.Based on the theory of transaction cost economics and social exchange theory,it is analyzed whether the explicit contracts and implicit controls have an impact on the buyer's environmental performance and how they are affected.Based on the natural-resource-based view,the mediating role of environmental collaboration and green alignment is discussed.Then build a conceptual model of the relationship about relationship governance mechanism,green supplier integration and buyers' environmental performance,and put forward the corresponding research hypothesis.The research object is Chinese manufacturing company,taking a large sample questionnaire survey,and using SPSS22.0 and AMOS 17.0 to analyze the collected data.Using multivariate linear regression analysis to verify the relevant research hypothesis,and get the research conclusion.This paper discusses that manufacturing companies how to use relationship governance mechanism to promote the green supplier integration,then improving environmental performance,in order to provide a theoretical reference for guiding manufacturing companies to more effectively governing environment.The conclusions and innovations are:(1)Clarified that explicit contracts and implicit controls in relational governance mechanisms are conducive to improving buyer' environmental performance.Existing studies have focused on improving environmental performance through implementing green supply chain management practices,environmental innovation,or improving environmental management capabilities,but neglected using relationship governance mechanisms to constrain suppliers' environmental behaviors to improve their environmental performance.Through theoretical analysis and empirical test,the results show that the explicit contract and implicit control have a positive effect on the buyer's environmental performance improvement.(2)Proved that the green supplier integration plays a mediating role between the relationship governance mechanism and buyer's environmental performance.There are few research about supplier integration in the context of environmental management.Although the meaning of integration is different in different contexts,the purpose of all integration is to rely on suppliers to achieve the specific goals which beyond their own capabilities.According to natural resource view,a comprehensive definition of green supplier integration has been made,and the empirical test results show that the relationship governance mechanism can promote the green supplier integration,and then improve the buyer' environmental performance.
