Research On The Impact Of Technological Innovation On The Upgrading Of The Traditional Industry

Traditional industry is related to people's livelihood,which is of great significance to China's economic development.However,in recent years,the low technological content,low added value and high production costs of traditional industry have caused widespread concern.The upgrading of traditional industry is an effective way to enhance the competitiveness of traditional industry.The 18 th and 19 th National Party Congress have emphasized the importance of innovation-driven development and proposed that innovation is an important factor in achieving industry upgrading.Therefore,the research on the traditional industry upgrading based on technology innovation will not only help to enrich the related theories of technology innovation and traditional industry upgrading,but also provide a scientific basis for the traditional industry upgrading so as to accelerate the development of traditional industries in China.So this research has a certain theoretical significance and practical significance.Firstly,this paper reviews the related research on technology innovation and traditional industry upgrading,defines the concept of technological innovation and traditional industry upgrading,and then puts forward the connotation of traditional industry upgrading: process upgrading,product upgrading,function upgrading and industrial ecological upgrading.Then,the theoretical analysis framework of the impact of technology innovation on traditional industry upgrading is constructed from two aspects of technology innovation and institutional environment.Secondly,this paper uses panel data from 30 regions in China(except Tibet)from 2005 to 2015 as an analysis sample,and uses a fixed effect model to empirically analyze the impact of technology innovation on the traditional industry upgrading on the basis of theoretical analysis.The results show that: Technology innovation has a significant positive impact on the traditional industry upgrading.Then,according to Hansen's panel threshold model,taking the institutional environment as a threshold variable,the regression analysis of the relationship between technology innovation and traditional industry upgrading is conducted again.The result shows that the promotion of technology innovation on traditional industries is nonlinear.Specifically,the three thresholds of the institutional environment divide the analysis sample into four intervals.In the first interval,technology innovation does not significantly promote the traditional industry upgrading,but in the second,third,and fourth intervals.technology innovation has a significant role in promoting the traditional industry upgrading,and the strength of promotion will increase first and then decline.The two empirical results fully validate the research hypothesis in this paper.Finally,taking Heilongjiang Province as an example,this paper analyzes the reasons for the decline of traditional industry upgrading in Heilongjiang Province from the perspectives of technological innovation and institutional environment,and proposes some suggestions for the traditional industry upgrading in China.
