With the increase of economic growth and residents' income and the improvement of modern traffic conditions, tourism has gradually developed into a new growth point and pillar industry of the national economy.Tourism service trade has gradually become a new type of industry with broad development prospects and large industrial scale. It has provided a powerful impetus for national economic development. In 2013,the grand "The Belt and Road " initiative was proposed, which provided a new historical starting point and development opportunity for the development of tourism service trade.Xinjiang has a vast geographical area, unique geographical conditions, rich tourism resources and strong exotic customs. It is an important strategic area for the development of China's tourism industry and an important node and core area for the Silk Road Economic Belt. However,at present, although the tourism service trade in Xinjiang has made great progress, there are still problems such as the overall small scale of development, uneven regional structure, unreasonable consumption structure, and unbalanced customer market. How to use the “The Belt and Road” to build major opportunities, strengthen the alignment with countries and regions along the route, and enhance the sustainable competitiveness of Xinjiang's tourism service trade is the key to this paper. In the case of retrieval, collation and study of related documents at home and abroad, the author first sums up the existing studies on tourism service trade, discusses relevant concepts and theories, and lays the foundation for further research.Secondly, based on the two aspects of development scale and market structure, the paper analyzes the characteristics of the evolution of tourism service trade in Xinjiang and its status in the provinces along the “The Belt and Road” in the west, and correctly understands the development status and existing problems of tourism service trade in Xinjiang.Thirdly,by measuring the overall and structural competitiveness of the provinces along the “The Belt and Road” western region through the market share, revealed comparative advantage index, and the construction of an indicator system,we can accurately grasp the development level of Xinjiang's tourism industry and its specific positioning along the western provinces. Then,in the context of the “The Belt and Road” construction,Michael Porter's “diamond model” theory was used to analyze qualitative factors and quantitative methods to analyze factors affecting competitiveness. Finally,on the basis of summarizing the above-mentioned researches,it proposes scientific and reasonable countermeasures and suggestions to provide assistance for the long-term sustainable development of tourism service trade in Xinjiang.
