With information explosion,work tasks become more and more complex,thus errors emerge in endlessly.Previous researches show that organizations may benefit from errors through error learning,which helps improve the workflow and reduce the probability of similar errors.This process is error management.A lot of researches show that error management is effective and propose many advice to conduct error management system.But the system is not so effective because organizations can hardly realize the error when it occur.In fact,error reporting is the most economical way through which organization can get error information.But few research focus on it.Realizing this problem,our research try to explore factors affecting error reporting.It's obvious that superior's behavior would affect subordinate's behavior.Ethical leadership is a new type leadership.Leaders adopt ethical leadership will consciously regulate their behavior,establish an ethical model in organization,which shows that they are “integrity,altruism,collectivism,and encouraging”.And these qualities encourage human report errors.Since no previous research discussed the relationship between ethical leadership and error reporting,our research decide to conduct this study.It contains both theoretical and practical significance.Referencing existing research about the relationship between ethical leadership and voice behavior,our research construct an intermediary model which as “ethical leadership? error management climate ? error reporting” based on social learning theory and rational behavior theory.We also realize the moderating role of self-monitoring between error management climate and error reporting.We design questionnaire based on previous research,and then distribute the questionnaire through the network.Finally,we receive 157 feedbacks.Then we analyze the data and test the hypothesis by SEM(Structural equation model),AMOS17.0 and SPSS18.0.The result predict that ethical leadership is positively related with error reporting behavior,error management climate act as an mediator among the process.Futher,two constructs of error management climate,which are thinking about errors and error communication,play important roles in the mediating effect.The moderating effect isn't supported by the data.
