Land is the most basic element of agricultural production and an important guarantee for increasing farmers' income. How to use the land resources scientifically and effectively and optimize the allocation of the land resources is an urgent research topic.Farmland transfer is an important means to optimize the allocation of land resources.By transferring farmland,it can promote the scale management of farmland, the effective connection between small farmers and the development of modern agriculture, and the continuous income of farmers. This paper focuses on the effect of farmland transfer on farmers'income. The data is derived from the first hand survey of the farmers in 2016,including 406 households in Xiuyu District,Putian City as a sample. The study analyzed the personal, family and income characteristics, and used Logit Regression to estimate the variables that affect the behaviors of farmland transfer, further, the method of propensity score matching was implied to find out whether the farmland transfer improves the income level of farmers.Field investigations and empirical analysis have led to the following conclusions:(1)The younger the householder surveyed is,the higher the level of education is,the better the health status is,and the higher the willingness to participate in the transfer of farmland is,the greater the possibility of participating in land transfer will be.Simultaneously, the greater the number of migrant workers in the household is and the greater the proportion of non-agricultural income is,those members who have received professional training are more likely to participate in land transfer activities than other farmers.(2)In order to investigate the impact of farmers' participation in land transfer on their income level, both the method of radius matching and the nearest neighbor matching are employed respectively to calculate the effect of the land transfer on the farmers' income level. The results show that participation in land transfer has a significantly positive effect on per capita income of farmers, and after controlling the sample bias, the per capita income of farmers participating in land transfer is still higher than the per capita income of non-participating land transfer farmers. However,The average per ca-pita income gap between the two groups is significantly reduced.(3)Because land outflow benefits are significant, the land transfer has a significant negative effect on farmers' income, while land transfer has a significant positive effect on non-farm income. After controlling sample selection bias, the negative effect of land transfer on farmers'income has increased, while the positive impact on non-farmers' income has been significantly reduced.Based on the conclusion that rural land transfer has a significant positive effect on farmer's income, the paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions on accelerating farmland transfer from the aspects of improving the input level of rural human capital, improving the market of land circulation and optimization the farmland transfer mechanism.
