Analysis Of Structural Adjustment's Contribution To The Total Factor Productivity Of Agriculture In Jilin Province

Factors of production are usually scarce in economic development,and the resource environment and social capacity are also limited.Restricted by the law of diminishing marginal returns,simple increase of agricultural inputs cannot guarantee the sustainable development of economy and will inevitably meet the bottleneck,and economic growth will ultimately depend on the improvement of total factor productivity(TFP).Therefore,the following problems are in top concern to in the course of promoting agricultural growth: in-depth analytical structure adjustment,influence mechanism between total factor productivity and agricultural growth,the role of quantitative structure adjustment to the agricultural total factor productivity size etc.Jilin province is a big agriculture province in our country,so reasonable adjustment of agricultural structure on agricultural production safety plays an important role in our country.It is of great significance to work on the full play of the growth potential of structure dividend in Jilin province,rational allocation of agricultural production factors,improvement of the agricultural production efficiency so as to radically reduce production input and increase farmers' income.The paper studies on the agricultural structure adjustment to the agricultural total factor productivity(TFP)in Jilin province based on the number of aggregation framework by analyzing the forestry,animal husbandry and fishery output and single output value of industry,the input indicators of five input variables including the labor input,land investment,mechanical power,chemical fertilizer and irrigation input;it makes horizontal and vertical comparison of the agriculture development process in Jilin province by using the data form panel data since 1978 and the product complete Hicks-Moorsteen TFP index.The results show that TFP grew by an average of 1.9% a year between 1978 and 2016 in Jilin province,among which the average growth of 3.7% in technological progress is the main drive for TFP growth followed by agricultural structure adjustment with a yearly contribution of 0.1%,while the technical efficiency and scale efficiency showed an annual loss of 0.6% and 1.3% respectively,inhibiting the agricultural TFP growth.Based on the above analysis,this paper puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions from the following four perspectives: optimizing the internal structure of planting industry and building the brand of featured agricultural products;to stabilize and improve the economic benefit of forestry;to accelerate the development of modern animal husbandry industrialization;to rationally develop and utilize fresh water resources.
