Study On Agricultural Total Factor Productivity In Jilin Province

Agriculture is the primary industry and the foundation of economic development.The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that " Issue concerning agriculture,countryside and farmers is a fundamental issue that affects the national well-being and the people's livelihood.It must always be the top priority of the work of the whole Party in addressing issues concerning agriculture,countryside and farmers.As China's traditional agricultural province and an important food production base,Jilin Province has superior agricultural production conditions and natural environment.The growth of the agricultural economy in Jilin Province depends on the increase of input factors on the one hand,and on the other hand,it depends on the improvement of total factor productivity.Under the constraints of resources and ecology,it is not realistic to simply rely on increasing input factors to increase agricultural output,but it is feasible to increase the overall productivity of agricultural production.So,what is the status of the agricultural total factor productivity in Jilin Province? How much contribution does total factor productivity make to agricultural economic growth in Jilin province? Is there room for further exploration? These questions will be answered principally in this paper.This paper first analyzes correlated materials and data of input-output in Jilin Province,summarizes the development process and characteristics of Jilin Province's agriculture,and then uses the DEA-Malmquist index method to calculate the total agricultural productivity change from 1978 to 2016 DEA-Malmquist index is decomposed into the technical efficiency change index and the technological progress index.Then,the Solow residual value method is used to measure the contribution of total factor productivity to the agricultural output of Jilin Province.The research conclusions show that technological progress is the main driving force of agricultural total factor productivity in Jilin Province.Productivity level of agricultural total factor in Jilin Province shows a fluctuating growth trend overall,and it is still at a relatively low level throughout the country.The contribution of agricultural total factor productivity in Jilin province to agricultural output in Jilin province is 24.91%.To improve the total factor productivity of Jilin Province,we must give full play to the government's adjustment and promotion functions,improve the agricultural technology extension system,focus on improving the efficiency of agricultural technology,carry out intensive land-scale management,accelerate the structural adjustment and optimize the allocation of production factors.We constantly explore in actual production,narrow the gap between Jilin Province and other provinces,and improve the overall development level of Jilin Province's agriculture.
