Research On The Design Of Child-friendly Community Public Space

Children’s growth is largely influenced by the physical environment,and a child-friendly growth environment can promote the healthy development of children’s physical and mental health.However,in an adult-led society,children are difficult to voice in urban public affairs as a “protected” object,and their space rights are ignored for a long time.High-density urban buildings and car-based street spaces are deprived.The space for children’s outdoor activities,the resulting child obesity,natural deficiency,violence,autism and other issues have aroused widespread concern in all walks of life.As one of the signatories to the UN <Children’s Friendship Convention>,China has given full attention to the development of children.The "protection of children’s legitimate rights and interests" has been included in the party’s report on the 19 th National Congress,Some cities have also actively adopted the <Building a Child-Friendly City: A Framework for Action> issued by UNICEF to make a city-oriented strategic plan for children and a corresponding work plan.The community is the most basic unit of society,and it is the most frequent field for children’s outdoor activities.However,in the process of rapid urbanization,many communities do not provide space suitable for children’s outdoor activities,which requires children from the perspective of the community.The public space is optimized to meet the diverse spatial needs of children in their growth.Based on children’s needs for community public space,this paper takes children’s psychology,environmental behavior and child-friendly theory as the theoretical basis,and combines relevant domestic and international practice cases to propose the basic elements of constructing a child-friendly community public space,meanwhile forms a corresponding child-friendly community evaluation standard.Conduct field research on Xintian Community in Baoan District,Shenzhen by participating in related activities,field observations and questionnaire surveys.After fully understanding the current situation of the use of public space in the community,make a public space from the existing public space ofXintian Community.The evaluation was made and the corresponding optimization opinions were put forward in a targeted manner.Children are the future of the motherland and the hope of the nation.The author hopes that this article will arouse the attention of the government and relevant practitioners to the vulnerable groups of children,and create a community public space that is more suitable for children’s growth and development,and for future related aspects.Theoretical research and practical exploration provide useful references.
